What better way to draw nearer to Jesus than to grow closer to his mother?

As the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart and the Memorial of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, consider a few nuggets of heavenly wisdom about these great, holy hearts!

O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee! Immaculate Heart of Mary, pray for us!

“Are you suffering a great deal? Don’t lose heart. I will never forsake you. My Immaculate Heart will be your refuge and the way that will lead you to God.” Our Lady of Fatima
“Even while living in the world, the heart of Mary was so filled with motherly tenderness and compassion for men that no-one ever suffered so much for their own pains, as Mary suffered for the pains of her children.” St. Jerome
“We have in heaven the heart of a Mother, the Virgin, our Mother, who at the foot of the cross suffered as much as possible for a human creature, understands our trouble.” St. Leopold Mandic
“If you put all the love of the mothers into one heart it still would not equal the love of the Heart of Mary for her children.” St. Louis Marie de Montfort
“Mary, give me your Heart: so beautiful, so pure, so immaculate; your Heart so full of love and humility that I may be able to receive Jesus in the Bread of Life and love Him as you love Him and serve Him in the distressing guise of the poor.” St. Teresa of Calcutta
“The loveliest masterpiece of the heart of God is the heart of a mother.” St. Thérèse of Lisieux
“Mother, dear, lend me your heart. I look for it each day to pour my troubles into.” St. Gemma Galgani
