DOLORES CATHERINE HOWE “MEMA” passed away on Thursday July 6, 2023. She died of natural causes, in the peaceful comfort of her home in Highlands Ranch, CO. She was in the company of her husband of 65 years, Winston Howe Jr. (Gampy). She was 88 years young.

Dolores was born on June 17, 1935 in South San Francisco, CA, to Agnes and Modesto Mazzetti. She attended Mercy High School in Burlingame, CA and went on to receive a degree in Elementary Education from San Francisco State College. It was there that she met her future husband, during Physical Education Class 1.2. They married on June 7, 1958 at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church in Burlingame.

Dolores moved to Colorado Springs with her family in 1973 and enjoyed an active and vibrant lifestyle at The Country Club of Colorado, where Winston was the head-golf professional. The family later moved to Denver in 1982, when Winston became golf-pro at Glenmore CC. Dolores was blessed to have 6 of her 7 children reside in the Denver area (plus one frequent flyer from Texas).

When she wasn’t walking more holes of golf than anyone on earth, watching all of her children’s sporting events, or rounding up her 7 kids to attend 5:30 pm mass, she could be found on the Kasilof River in Alaska, the Bighorn River in Montana, or praying a daily rosary: Always with Gampy and always hand in hand.

Dolores is survived by her husband, Winston Jr., her seven children, Lauren, Dana, Winston III, Carol, Paul, David and Cathy and their spouses Huey, Terri, Bart, April, Travis, Cheryl and Deb.

She is survived by 13 grandchildren: Kristin, Casey, Kelli, Andrea, Winston IV, Caitlin, David, Grady, Kelsey, Ashely, Henry, Mary Catherine and Emily in addition to 15 great-grandchildren: Kyler, Jayden, Paxton, Jameson, Kyleigh, Ace, Hudson, Gracie, Colt, Cooper, Reagan, Kinsley, Adley, JoeyAnn, and Joanie.

Dolores leaves behind her sister Maria Fregosi and 6 adult nieces and nephews.

Dolores “Mema” Howe, exuded love, the spirit of Christ, the joy of living life to the fullest, the loyalty of a powerful matriarch, and the tranquility of a soul destined for eternal salvation in heaven with almighty God.
