Appeal donors came through again for Catholic school teachers

Updated: Nov 23, 2024

The extra generosity of donors last year to the Archbishop’s Catholic Appeal made it possible to fund additional payments to all Archdiocese of Denver Catholic School teachers last month in recognition of their extraordinary work.

This is the third year in a row that exceptional giving to the appeal has made it possible to extend these special checks to teachers during Catholic Schools Week, which was Jan. 29 – Feb. 4, 2023.

Catholic schoolteachers choose to make a financial sacrifice when they decide to teach in a Christ-filled environment and provide a quality education. These checks are received with much gratitude from the teachers who describe their rewards as being intangible.

“The monetary aspect is of course very appreciated. What makes much more of an impact is the feeling that you have gratitude for what Catholic educators do,” wrote St. Louis Elementary School teacher Pattie Hagen in a previous thank you note to Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila.

“I am grateful to work for such a loving and supportive community,” All Souls Catholic School teacher Julie Talbot wrote in her previous thank you. “Thank you for all that you do for the Catholic Schools and those who work for them. We are truly blessed!”
