Brawn and brains: Regis University teams honored for academics

Four Regis University athletic teams earned top academic honors, receiving Paul W. Brechler Awards for highest team grade point averages among the 14 teams in the NCAA Division II Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Regis teams honored include: the women’s golf squad that took top honors with a 3.64 GPA, men’s soccer combined for a 3.39 GPA, men’s baseball ranked first with a 3.37 GPA, and men’s cross country topped the conference with a 3.35 GPA. All student-athletes on the institution’s NCAA eligibility list were included in the team GPA calculation. Plaques will be presented at the RMAC Hall of Fame and Awards Banquet July 11 in Colorado Springs.
