For the sixth year in a row, the Denver Nuggets are hosting Catholic Families Night at the Pepsi Center on Sunday, March 1, where they will face-off against the defending NBA champions, the Toronto Raptors.
Catholic Families Night with the Nuggets is an opportunity for families and students of Catholic Schools to attend a Nuggets game while supporting a good cause.
Catholic families may purchase their tickets at discounted rates and a portion of every ticket will go towards the Saint Sebastian Project in Denver, a non-profit organization that seeks to enhance and support sports programs at Catholic Schools.
In 2011, a chapter of the St. Sebastian Project launched in Denver to support Catholic schools in the area. In 2019, the organization was able to assist 22 Catholic Schools in the area with sports-related needs.
With the funds raised by the St. Sebastian Project, the schools are able to purchase sports equipment for students, such as uniforms and balls. The money is also used to help pay for referee fees, field rental fees and, in some cases, to help offset students’ registration fees.“Catholic Families Night is a wonderful chance for the faithful of northern Colorado to gather for an evening of fun, fellowship and faith,” Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila said.
If you cannot make it to the game on March 1, there are two alternative game options where a portion of ticket sales will also benefit Catholic school sports programs. Those games are Monday, March 9 vs. the Milwaukee Bucks and Monday, March 30 vs. the Oklahoma City Thunder.
