While hundreds of thousands of ballots have poured in throughout the State of Colorado, election season is far from over. The battle against serious, dangerous Constitutional amendments rages across the State. Churches across Colorado have been catechizing parishioners on what’s at stake; powerful pro-life testimonies have come to the fore; a pro-life procession has been scheduled for the weekend before Election Day; and countless faithful across the State have been gathering in prayer for life.
As part of the effort to educate voters on the issue, Archbishop Samuel J. Aquila appeared on the Dan Caplis Show to speak on the moral severity of the proposed amendment, which he noted would ban parental notice laws, allow for abortions through to the ninth month and repeal the ban of taxpayer funding for abortion.
In short, Archbishop Aquila said, the defeat of this proposed amendment is so important because of the centrality of the dignity of human life.
“It’s important that we return to the dignity of human life, because if we do not have it from the very beginning, we are going to hedge in every other way on human life and all the issues,” he said.
