Official Deacon Appointments: Dec. 20, 2023

Here’s a list of the latest permanent deacon appointments for the Archdiocese of Denver, effective on the dates as noted.


Deacon Louis Arambula, relieved of duties at St. Augustine Parish in Brighton, and appointed Deacon at St. John Paul II Parish in Thornton, effective January 1, 2024, ad nutum archiepiscopi, for no more than six years.


Deacon Philip Harrington, relieved of duties at Christ the King Parish in Denver, and appointed Deacon at St. Mary Parish in Aspen, effective October 1, 2023, ad nutum archiepiscopi, for no more than six years.


Deacon Paul Zajac, relieved of duties at St. Anthony of Padua Parish in Denver, and appointed Deacon at St. Michael the Archangel Parish in Aurora, effective January 1, 2024, ad nutum archiepiscopi, for no more than six years.


Deacon Timothy Vaughn, Diocese of Birmingham, has been granted Diaconal Faculties in the Archdiocese of Denver and appointed Deacon at St. Scholastica Parish in Erie, effective November 1, 2023, ad nutum archiepiscopi, for no more than six years.


Deacon Ronald Roderick, granted sabbatical status for 6 months and relieved of duties at St. Paul / St. Mary of the Assumption / Our Lady of Lourdes Parishes in Idaho Springs, Georgetown, Central City, effective December 1, 2023.


Deacon George Thierjung, granted sabbatical status for 6 months and relieved of duties at St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Longmont, effective January 1, 2024


Deacon Gregory Frank, granted retirement status with faculties, effective January 2, 2024.


Deacon John Riviera, granted retirement status with faculties, effective January 1, 2024
