Reminder: viewing a TV or online Mass does not fulfill the Sunday or Holy Day obligation, but is intended to be a spiritual resource for those who have a “serious” or “grave” reason that excuses them from fulfilling the obligation. For those who are healthy and able to attend in-person, a list of parishes in the Archdiocese can be found here.
Stuck at home this Christmas? Unable to get to Mass? Tune in to the Archdiocese of Denver's Televised Mass!
Begun in 1966, the regular Televised Mass from the Archdiocese of Denver affords homebound members of the Catholic community the opportunity to pray with the Church even though they are not able to be physically present for Mass in a local parish. In this way, the outreach effort reminds the homebound that they, too, matter to the Lord and his Church.
The 30-minute liturgy, prerecorded weekly in both English and Spanish at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, is broadcast weekly on Colorado Public Television, Denver PBS, CPT12 and the Archdiocesan YouTube channel and reaches 36,000 households in Colorado, eastern Nebraska and southern Wyoming.
This Christmas, Denver's longest-running television program will broadcast a special one-hour Mass on television stations across the Rocky Mountain region!
For those unable to attend Mass in person this Christmas for "serious" or "grave" reasons, the Televised Mass will be a blessed opportunity to unite with the Catholic community in celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior!
