WATCH: Finally! Our son's a priest!

Updated: Dec 21, 2024

By Neil McDonough and André Escaleira, Jr. One day, in the middle of a blizzard, from his Saturn Ion in a campus parking lot in Iowa, Father Zach Michalczyk told his parents he wanted to be a priest. 8 years later, he's now one of the archdiocese's 6 newest spiritual fathers! We sat down with Stephen and Eileen Michalczyk and Father Zach to talk about what it's like to have a new priest in the family. From how it the Michalczyks raised a priest to what it's like seeing your son confect the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ (!!), this is an interview you won't want to miss. As we remember St. John Vianney on what would have been his feast day yesterday, join us in praying for our priests. May the Lord bless and keep them, making them saintly shepherds after his own heart! Don't forget our seminarians, especially those at St. John Vianney Seminary in Denver, in your prayers today, too. Come, Holy Spirit!
